It is my role as a teacher to provide opportunities for students to grow into the people they are meant to be. A teacher must be a source of content knowledge, a positive role model, a guiding conscience, and an advocate of students' potential. It is my hope to be what my students need most, but I know my role is finite. In my classroom, I want to develop learners that never stop. I want to teach so that my students no longer need me in order to learn.
"For the sole true end of education is simply this:
to teach men how to learn for themselves; and whatever instruction fails to do this is effort spent in vain."
